Relational Hub News
It’s the good type of news!!!
As you all know, we are committed to supporting youth workers and their projects in the most sustainable way possible and sharing 'what works' in-order to see the lives of young people be positively transformed. With this in mind, we are prioritising what is working best for us - which is continuing to support the running and growth of the Relational Hub Collective.
Over the past few months we have had to reevaluate how our support for youth workers can continue to grow and flourish into the future. There are several reasons for this, with one of them being the challenging funding environment we are now in post covid, with the cost of living crisis and with funders rightly prioritising front line services.
We remain committed to and are now able to run the Collective in an even more of a sustainable way. The coaching calls, online training sessions, leadership training, the adopting and sharing of youth work tools and the peer-to-peer support has shown to offer youth workers a place to belong, feel supported and share best practice.
The Community Youth Workers Summit will also return in February 2024, celebrating & connecting those in the Collective and beyond.
All of this, does mean that myself and Holly will be working slightly less hours for Relational Hub, but there’s some good news on that front too. Working alongside her role with Relational Hub, Holly has picked up a part time role as the assistant to the Vicar at her Church; Holy Trinity Claygate, whilst she also continues with her training towards becoming a vicar herself.
From September, I am starting a new role with Oasis UK based in Croydon as their Development & Youth Innovation Lead, helping them setup a new volunteer mentoring program and state-of-the-art youth centre in the heart of the community. It’s an exciting role and will mean that I’m at the frontline of youth & community work which I’m sure will benefit the wider Collective for years to come.
As mentioned above, for most of those we work alongside, this will mean that our support can continue in exactly the same way, with myself and Holly continuing to provide our monthly coaching calls. We are also already working on plans to support our continued growth with this change of strategy. We want even more youth workers to be supported by the Collective and still have space for more to join, so if you know any community youth workers in need of support, connection and tools, please do steer them our way!
If you would like to chat with me about any of this, please do have a look at my diary and arrange a call.
We are looking forward to an exciting future for Relational Hub and most importantly, your incredible work supporting young people in your local communities.
Big Love
Andy Gill, CEO Relational Hub
